As usual, ASUS provides this ROG Strix with high-performance hardware inside. But this time, ASUS chose to use a pair of AMD processors as the CPU and GPU. Is it good? Let’s continue reading to find out…
This ROG Strix is powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX as the CPU and AMD Radeon RX 6800M as the GPU.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX is a powerful processor for large laptops which comes with eight cores and clock rates between 3300MHz â€" 4600MHz as well as 16MB L3 cache.
Meanwhile, AMD Radeon RX 6800M is a mobile high-end graphics card for gaming laptops that comes with 12MB GDDR6 VRAM and a boost core speed of up to 2300MHz.
Both processors are supported by a system memory of 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM and storage space of 1TB PCIe SSD.
The machine above provides powerful performance. That’s why this laptop can handle every task assigned to it, including demanding ones such as those that require high graphics details. Asus ROG Strix G15 features a 15.6-inch Full HD display that is fun for playing games, as well as watching movies of course. This anti-glare panel has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 16:9 ratio. The color gamut is 100.00%sRGB and 75.35%Adobe. While the refresh rate is 300Hz and the response time is 3ms.
This screen panel can present detailed images with vivid colors, thanks to the resolution and color gamut. And because of the high refresh rate, the motions on the screen seem smooth and alive without stuttering, making gaming more fun.
Since this panel has IPS tech, so the display quality isn’t much affected by viewing angles. Everything remains relatively stable when viewed from different directions, even from extreme angles.
The ports available are a lot and varied. All placed on the left and backside, none on the right. A big 4-cell Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 90WHrs becomes the power source for this gaming laptop. As advertised, ASUS claims it can last up to 12 hours of video playback. However, some say that the battery lasts between 7-8 hours for daily tasks. This is good because it is enough for a day’s work. What is certain is that playing games will quickly drain battery power. Some tests show that the battery can provide between 1-3 hours of power for heavy games. It all depends on usage and device settings.
This laptop also supports fast charging, up to 50% in 30 minutes.
For a 15-inch laptop, this ASUS ROG is not big with a size of 13.94 x 10.20 inches. However, it is indeed thick, 1.07 inches.
It weighs 5.51 lbs, not too heavy for a 15-inch gaming laptop.
This laptop is actually still nice to carry everywhere. It is easy to slip into your bag and you won’t feel the weight.
